Warmth In Winter In Shelbyville

No sushi, no room service, no trip to the mall — but hopefully, still a time of blessing and renewal

Last year’s worship band, FRVR FREE.

For the past five years or so, I’ve been a chaperone when the youth of my church attend Warmth In Winter. This is (normally) a massive, in-person youth conference attended by more than 2,600 United Methodist youth and their adult leaders and chaperones — from throughout Middle Tennessee. The first year I attended, 2016, it was at the Embassy Suites hotel and conference center in Murfreesboro — but it had outgrown that facility and moved to the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville the following year.

I look forward to this every year — I get a lot out of it, and I think I’m blessed as much as our youth are. I also enjoy spending time with our youth, of whom the whole church can be proud.
