Take off your rainbow shades

Ever wonder why an Arizona Iced Tea tall-boy can is cheaper than bottled water? Maybe the reason is that they aren’t spending enough money on customer service.

Ten months ago, I posted about a really lousy mail-order experience I had with a small-batch soy sauce company out of Cincinnati. My original order never got fulfilled, they went months without answering their published customer-service e-mail account, and were completely unapologetic about not responding to it. Their website, and order-confirmation emails, specifically tell you to use that email when you have a problem. But they apparently don’t check it very often. I also tried reaching them by Facebook message and other ways, and it still took months to get a response.

Then, when they finally agreed to send me what I had ordered and paid for months earlier, they screwed up the replacement order.

Something eerily similar has happened to me again, this time with a much larger company.

Arizona Iced Tea is famous for their over-sized cans of tea, sold at a really low price in convenience store coolers. They make other sizes and flavors and packages as well. For a long time, I would buy jugs of their zero sugar Arnold Palmer (iced tea plus lemonade) at…
