A company called World Wrestling Entertainment, or WWE, which was founded in 1952 under the name Capitol Wrestling Corporation, reported $930 million in revenue last year, with $700 million in total assets.

I can’t claim to have ever been a fan of professional wrestling — it’s just not my thing — but there’s no disputing that it’s one of the most popular forms of entertainment in the U.S.

Notice that I said “entertainment,” not “sports.”
